Qu'est ce qu' ARTBUS?

ArtBus est une organisation à but non-lucratif qui a pour objectif d'aider les espaces d'expositions excentrés des parcours artistiques classiques à se faire mieux connaître des collectionneurs, des curateurs et de la presse.
ArtBus, initié à Londres en 2008, a rencontré un véritable succès et a été plébiscité par plus de 400 voyageurs du monde de l'art qui ont ainsi pu visiter de manière priviligiée et exclusive plus de 30 expositions contemporaines à travers Londres.
Fondations privées, ateliers d'artistes, galeries émergentes, visites de collections privées seront au programme du parcours de l'ArtBus.
ArtBus donne une visibilité à la jeune scène artistique contemporaine et offre aux voyageurs un regard nouveau et pertinent sur la création visuelle et plastique contemporaine.

RENDEZ-VOUS: TOKYO ART CLUB

Premier Arrêt: Fondation Rosenblum

Ouverte en 2010, la Fondation Rosenblum est située dans le 13ème arrondissement de Paris. Les collectionneurs, Chiara et Steve Rosenblum sont à l’origine de ce projet qui propose une sélection d’artistes contemporains émergents et établis. Leur but est de partager leur coups de Coeurs et de soutenir les artistes qu’ils aiment. L’idée est aussi de changer la manière dont on regarde habituellement l’art. Ces jeunes collectionneurs nous offrent leurs visions contemporaines du monde de l’art à travers l’exposition ‘Born in Dystopia’. Panorama vu à travers le prisme d’œuvres abordant des questions politiques, idéologiques, sociales et politiques.

DEUXIÈME ARRÊT: LOFT 19 SUZANNE TARASIÈVE

Le 26 Septembre 2008, Suzanne Tarsieve ouvre les portes de Loft 19, galerie en plein coeur du quartier de Belleville. Au delà de sa simple vocation d’exposition l’espace permet d’accueillir les artistes de la galerie en résidence pour créer des projets dans les meilleurs conditions. L’artiste Yasine Manakche est à l’honneur, après de multiples expositions à Lyon, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai et Hong Kong en participation dans plusieurs résidences d’artistes (Alger, Shanghai, Marrakech), Yaze nous présente une étape phare dans sa quette artistique.

TROISIÈME ARRÊT: ATELIER DE L'ARTISTE VINCENT LAMOUROUX

Fasciné par la forme des montagnes russes et par le mouvement que cette structure permet d’effectuer, les oeuvres de François Lamouroux combinent architecture et sculpture. L’artiste tente, dans sa démarche, de modifier l’espace tant au niveau visuel qu’au niveau des sensations physiques. Les installations de l’artiste cernent les espaces de divertissement, les formes de la science-fiction et du progrès. Ses oeuvres tentent ‘de retranscrire formellement l’aspiration au mouvement et à la projection des structures futuristes, tout en soulignant leur prédestination à l’obsolescence’. L’artiste utilise des matériaux low-tech comme du bois, de l’acier ou des néons. Vincent Lamouroux est lauréat du prix Fondation d’entreprise Ricard et expose en 2007 à la galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois à Paris.

QUATRIÈME ARRÊT: VISITE DE L'ATELIER DE L'ARTISTE SHANTA RAO

Franco-indienne, vit et travaille à Paris.Etats-limites de perception, tensions entre signe et matière, les œuvres composites de Shanta Rao s’articulent entre organisation systémique et expansion organique. L’artiste utilise l’accumulation – images et/ou matériaux – comme principe, mêlant pratiques sérigraphiques, numériques ou encore gestuelles. Elle développe un vocabulaire où les images originelles se délitent en grains, pixels épars ou taches invalidant tout message symbolique. Shanta Rao participe actuellement à l’exposition « l’hiver ou le déluge » à la galerie Nathalie Obadia. Elle a participé à des expositions personnelles et collectives notamment lors de la première biennale de Belleville, la biennale de Jakarta en Indonésie, au National Institute of Design à Ahmedabad en Inde ou encore au Parvis d’Ibos, centre d’art contemporain. Lauréate du prix de la Villa Médicis hors les murs.

ARRÊT FINAL: MUSÉE ART ROCH

Visite privée de l’espace Art Roch, ou les voyageures pourrons échanger leurs idées et opinions sur leurs nouvelles découvertes . Art Roch est un lieu vivant, actif et pluri culturelle, offrant différents espaces, initié par Emmanuel Bouvet. La Galerie propose des expositions temporaires. Le musée accueille à ce jour une exposition des oeuvres emblématiques de la collection d’art Aborigène australien de Morteza Esmaili, l’une des plus belles collections en dehors d’Australie. Enfin un auditorium et une salle de projection reçoivent conférence, débat, discussion, projection et concert. Un lieu magique situé sous l’Eglise Saint Roch. Un cocktail et une surprise étaient prévus dans les caves de l’Auditorium!

Après Paris Berlin et Paris London Exchange, c'est l’ECU Independant Film Festival qui est à l’honneur au Scopitone! Michael Saranga, Walden et la talentueuse Tiffany Burton nous enchantent avec un set en solo de ‘jazz electro pop’. Pour boucler le tout, la soirée se conclut en mode 1980’s accompagnée d'une touche 'electro", avec DJ Irish Steve! Artstanding spreads its wings across Art, Music and cinema and participates to cultural mouvements evolving around us. After Paris Berlin and Paris London exchange, the Independent film festival l’ECU is on the agenda at le Scopitone! Michael Saranga, Walden and the talented Tiffany Burton join us for a solo set of ‘jazz electro pop’. To sum it all up, the evening ends in an 1980’s fashion accompanied by an electro touch with DJ Irish Steve! A mixture of ingredients gathered to garantie a smashing evening filled with a diverse set of guests: professionals from the film industry, journalists and trendy amateurs from the Parisian scene.

Since its creation six years ago the Independent film festival (ECU) helps young independent movie-makers to project their movies to international audiences. Née en 1982 en Norvège, vit et travaille à Los Angeles

Diplômée de Central Saint Martins école de Art et Design en 2007, Marie Kristiansen est photographe, directrice et artiste conceptuel. L’artiste aux talents divers et variés, a réalisé plusieurs vidéos d’art et de mode, co-réalisé et filmé un long métrage. Grâce à des parents producteurs, elle grandit dans un environnement artistique, arpentant les plateaux de tournage dès son plus jeune âge. A neuf ans, pour son premier rôle, elle remporte le ‘Youth in Film Award’ à Hollywood, le prix de la meilleure jeune actrice pour un film étranger, intitulé Maker (Seagulls), en 1991.

L’artiste a également exposé son travail dans plusieurs villes européennes. Elle se distingue par des visions espiègles de la sexualité féminine et ses descriptions de l’esthétiquement beau. Son travail propulse les spectateurs dans un univers surréel et les mène au questionnement de leurs propres réalités perçues.

Vivant à LA Marie a dirigé un long-métrage ‘Exteriors’ avec son collègue Patrik Syverson. Marie ayant étudié la cinématographe est la première photographe féminine et la plus jeune femme ayant dirigé un long métrage en Norvège.

Dans un film étranger pour son rôle dans Maker (seagulls) (1991). Elle a joué dans plusieurs productions à ‘Opera House’ à Oslo faisant partie du ‘Norwegian Royal Academie of Ballet’.

Marie Kristiansen graduated from Central Saint Martin in 2007.Kristiansen is a fine art photographer, director, and conceptual artist. She has directed music and fashion videos, directed and filmed a feature film, and exhibited her art work in several European cities. The cinematic character in her work can be traced back to her upbringing as the daughter of director/producer parents. Her own birth featured in the award winning film “Headman” (1984) and she went on to spend most of her childhood on film sets. At the age of nine, she was rewarded the Youth in Film Award in Hollywood for Best Young Actress Characterized by her playfull spin on female sexuality and depictions of the aesthetically pleasing. Kristiansen’s work lures the viewer into her surreal universe and questions our own perceived realities.

Whilst living in LA Marie directed the feature film Exteriors together with colleague Patrik Syversen. Marie who also did the cinematography, is the first female photographer and the youngest woman to ever direct a feature in Norway. In March the film hits the cinemas in her home Country Norway.

Né en Provence, il part dès ses 17 ans étudier en Australie, Études sur les films, qu’il poursuivra à Los Angeles. Assistant photographe pendant ses études, il choisit de se spécialiser dans la photographie au Art Center College of Design en Californie.

Aujourd’hui, Photographe professionnel, Clément se ballade accompagné de son appareil photo entre Los Angeles et les capitales européennes. Il a travaillé pour des marques comme Sessun, 291 Venice et aussi publie dans le Flaunt, RG Vogue brazil.

‘Ce qui me fait vibrer c’est cette démarche humaine et intimiste qui me donne ensuite l’impulsion de retranscrire ces émotions dans mes œuvres. ’ Il n’y a pas d’ordre préconçu dans la succession d’images, il n’y a ni début, ni fin. Je préfère ce statut d’invitation au rêve avec cette constante prédilection pour les couleurs chaudes. ‘

Entre 2004 et 2006, Marco étudie la photographie au Centre des Arts de LA. Après son diplôme, il est apprentis chez Art Streiber, photographe portraitiste renommé. Sous sa direction, Marco travaille en tant qu’assistant sur des photo-shoots avec Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts et Jack Nicolson.

Quand l’opportunité de travailler avec Mary Ellen Mark lui est offert, Marco emménage à SF, et c’est à ce moment que sa carrière décolle vraiment. Il photographie tous les groupes de musiciens émergents dont ceux des labels Om et Custard Records. En 2010, à NY, il créé son premier show. Celui-ci est bien reçu et ses portraits en particuliers commencent à faire parler de lui.

Marco studied photography at The Arts Centre, Los Angeles 2004- 2006 following graduation he apprenticed under the tuition of Art Streiber renowned portrait photographer. Marco assisted on shoots including Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Jack Nicholson while under his direction. Marco also gained valuable experience assisting on shoots for Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly as well as shooting movie posters for Universal.

Marco moved to San Francisco after gaining the opportunity of work with Mary Ellen Mark.

It was through work in San Francisco that his career in photography really took off shooting artists at up and coming music labels including Om and Custard records. This led to his first show in NY in 2010 which received well and gained him more attention for his portraits.

Since his recent move to London he has had the opportunity to work with publications including Harpers Bazaar shooting portraits and work on fashion labels and retailers namely Browns, Topshop and Club Monaco. Where he is documenting backstage at the catwalk shows in Paris, Milan and London.

The title of this piece was inspired by Edward Lorenz’s famous question: “Can a butterfly flapping his wings in Brazil provoke a tornado in Texas?” This interrogation originated the “Butterfly Effect” theory and refers to the foundation of chaos. In a nutshell, a simple mistake can have a disproportionate influence on a given situation.

Karim and Luc’s piece winks at this theory and proposes to reflect on it.

The sculpture takes the shape of a levitated tropical hut. Mounted on a rock, the ensemble seems to be facing a violent storm. This scene, other than its reference to climate change, can be seen as a metaphor of existence. Can we measure the impact simple events and daily acquaintances have on our lives?

Some of our experiences feel like hurricanes. However, we should acknowledge the fact that although the hut is bending it is not braking. Therefore, one should not underestimate the strength of human nature.

« Welcome to the enigma of the virtual ». (Pascal Beausse)

At a time of radical evolution in this Information Age, Marie Maillard transcribes the future in images that emerge from reality towards reshaping it. She anticipates the consequences of virtual intrusion on our daily environment.

Her artworks test the becoming-image of our realities. Maillard’s Video- Wallpapers express the idea of an inhabitable, enveloping image that moves beyond the screen, taking over the architectural space. It is no longer an image that is looked upon, rather an image that one inhabits.

The image is imposed on reality, redefining it aesthetically. Through these intrusions of the visual space, endowed with an intelligence of its own, Marie Maillard introduces doubt to our understanding of what distinguishes the virtual and reality.

Through his complex drawings boosting refined lines, Pier Stockholm, a Peruvian artist living in Paris, can be considered a story-teller. He is a contemporary poet whose verses have been placed in different media, such as installations, sculptures and drawings.

The artist re-creates chaos in an apparent aesthetic and ordered manner where technical precision has its own language. Sarcasm can also be understood in the utopian and non-functional way architecture is portrayed.

To contemplate his work gives us access to a contrasted world of anarchy and order.

The French artistic duo as known as La Fratrie gathers two brothers, Karim and Luc Berchiche. In their creations, they invite us to explore a unique and extraordinary universe via their "rock-islands".

These mixed-media sculptures showcase formal and technical precision. Using silicone, silver, gold-leaf, iron, flocking, Karim and Luc become the craftsmen of a utopian world.

These aerial rocks equally constitute worlds of their own, being uprooted illusions of their place of origin. Such surrealistic and complex fictions introduce narrative, and often allegorical scenes. They also provide us with sources for real reflection upon the brevity and fragility of life.

Marc Molk: Allegory as a means of expression

Marc Molk is an allegorical painter, a miniaturist writer, and a performer. He is also an activist and a video composer, obsessed with the idea of confession. His work is intended to be as protean as his life: « a jigsaw made from the missing pieces of a hundred other jigsaws. »

« I would like to set allegories out of their out-datedness: my allegories are light, nearly realistic while still paradoxical. I am wary of pathos in general. Images impose themselves to me: I end up painting them to get rid of them, to let them go. I could go on at length about such and such theoretical or technical aspect, but with each added word, I feel I'm lessening the point of my works, emptying them of their substance. In any case, I do not own their meaning. Ultimately, I hope my paintings will be liked, as simple as that, simple and silly maybe: I hope that, magically somehow, they will bring to me those with whom love or friendship is a possibility. I use painting as my ambassador. »

« It is possible to deal with our entire environment as a work of art. » (Marshall McLuhan)

Her thirst to analyze and decompose images is illustrated in the laborious hours spent sketching, cutting and carving. All of this goes hand in hand with her love for scientific drawing and natural history in general. In this respect, her passion enables her to create an aesthetic of her own.

London’s Natural History Museum, paired with her Saint Martins laboratory-like studio space, have led her to dig into the mysteries of the human body towards exploring the complex intricacies between Nature and mankind.

Her drawings, obsessive and intricate, remind us of zoomed microscope images. By blowing up details, they surprisingly start looking like abstract landscapes, cities, threatening meteorites or immense icebergs. Through this she achieves what she says is the most integral part of her creative process, taking tiny things and celebrating the grandeur of intricacies!

Nature is creating its proper pieces of Art.

Tiphaine’s work is a meticulous and delicate excavation of it, taking us slowly to an introspection of ourselves and the well-structured opinion of the world.

It is a brilliant stroke.

In 2005, John Dodelande was named the youngest entrepreneur in France by Renaud Dutreuil, French Minister of Economy .

At 17, John Dodelande launched his own fashion brand which gave him unusual high levels of media
coverage.

Today, he combines his experience of entrepeneurship & marketing with a true passion for contemporary art. John Dodelande develops projects with artists to design boats (of less than 25 feet). He works with Frauscher, one of the best European Shipyards, in order to create a product of the highest quality.These limited edition nautical sculptures are presented on the art market & sold at the market value of the artist.
He inaugurated his first boat with Xavier Veilhan .

Xavier Veilhan is a well-known French artist who exhibited his work at the Château de Versailles in 2009, alongside Jeff Koons & Takashi Murakami. He is works closely with the gallerist & artdealer Emmanuel Perrotin.

From this collaboration, 5 boats were made. The RAl 5015 and Ral Sky Blu were the two first boats produced and have already joined private art collections in Europe.The RAL 5015 is of mono-chromic design, which was inspired by the Blue Klein colour. It was presented by Artcurial auction house last July, 2010.

The RAL 5015 was exhibited last summer at the rond point des Champs Elysées in Paris, Saint-Tropez and Monaco. It was then sold at Artcurial auction house. However, the public is able to admire it again from October 14th until November13th in London, at the Hoxton Square art space Rove Projects .

John Dodelande & his financial partners Philippe Gellman & Harry Halfon (Boursorama.com co-founder) plan to renew the operation with an internationally famous artist, whose name will shortly be revealed.

Sure, you might tell yourself, it’s on until November – it’s only been October for six days, after all – but at this time of year, we find it’s always best to plan your art calendar ahead. We don’t mean to sound like your mother, but shouldn’t you start writing these things down?

Kenny Schachter / ROVE is pleased to present a new exhibition, ARCHICHAOS, curated by Julia Van Hagen of ArtStanding, featuring work by Bianca Argimon, Tiaphaine de Bodman, La Fraterie, Kolkoz, Marie Maillard, Theo Mercier, Marc Molk, MoM’s, Lucien Murat and Piers Stockholm.

The exhibition, ARCHICHAOS, demonstrates the notion of architecture and chaos. Each artist’s work included in this project reflects upon the concept of architecture, nature, and society. Working in a variety of mediums from photography and installation to performance and drawing, the artists demonstrate the way in which chaos and environmental architecture has evolved and played a major role in our society.

Founded in 2005, the group known as the MoM’S gather two Icelandic Mundi and Morri. Active wherever they are, they have regularly participated in performances with the quatuor of Gelitin in New York, London, Paris, and in Venice during the Biennale in 2007.

Moreover, their graphic works combine their individual techniques in dynamic compositions inspired by Surrealist corpses. They also include their day to day life and experiences, and sometimes showcase their social attachement with the Icelandic population.

He works on the edge of borders between good and bad, dark and light, attraction and repulsion to leave a constant question mark. Theo Mercier is a French artist who deals with today’s environment and the danger of extinction. His work constantly refers to metamorphosis and mutation. It is through his own black humour that the artist translates his message into art.

He depicts the precarious balance of our world today and interrogates the spectator. He expresses those ideas through various medias such as installations and photography. Through his surrealistic sculptures, we are transported into a world of the unreal.

Hitler loves Ousama, Ousama loves Hitler.

Together they lead humanity towards chaos.

The monumental « toy-like » arch celebrates the power and triumph of evil, ironically expressed through the terrorist and the dictactator’s passionate relationship.

Lucien Murat creates a grotesque and absurd visual landscape in which humans, deprived of choice end up coming out of Hitlers ‘derrière’. Terror is embodied by the massive car wreckage, and its survivors are doomed. They will have to go through Hitler's arse to get their outfits for the wedding. Orange must be worn to join the party.

The artist refers to super heroes of the Golden Age, such as Batman or Captain America, to reverse the « Good always triumphs over Evil » myth. The superhero archetype is incapable of saving the world and ends up in absurd situations.

Humanity sinks into cartoon violence. While Ousama and Hitler express their love for chaos, they impose terror and awe.

In this respect, « Love is in the air » presents itself as an imposing monument, illustrating a childish and naïve vision of our distressful world. However, in this installation the notion of Good and Bad does not exist. There is only love and evil conquering the world together.

Xavier Veilhan at ROVE PROJECTS

Xavier Veilhan, is one of the most influential contemporary artists in

France

today. Veilhan’s exhibition in Versailles, has turned the artist into afrench icon.

At the Rove Project space Xavier Veilhan presents his latest creation, the RAL 5015. This seven metre blue « floating sculpture » was designed by the artist in collaboration with the prestigious Frauscher shipyard. The most emblematic aspect of the boat is the sharks symmetrical features which miraculously appears whenever its driver decides.
